       Abishag [perhaps, father of wandering].

       A beautiful girl from Shunem, employed to attend upon king David when he was old and declining in vitality (1 Kin. 1:1-4). Adonijah wished to marry her after David's death, and made application for the needed permission to Solomon, who not merely refused his request, but interpreted it to mean an insidious claim for the crown, and put him to death (1 Kin. 2:13-25).
